Celebrating the Stars of Basketball
Asked to help revamp the exhibits at Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, RLMG worked with media partner and project lead Northern Light Productions to develop media that celebrates basketball and the stars of the game. RLMG’s media work includes 8 interactive touchscreen exhibits, a large-scale LED video wall, and an extensive content management system that allows museum staff to add and edit content for the media exhibits.
Hall of Honor
The Hall of Honor features an interactive that allows visitors to explore the stories of all 400+ members, from their early beginnings, to enshrinement at the Hall, and beyond. Large touch screens allow for scrolling through all inductees as well as sorting by name, class year, or category. Inductee pages allow for in-depth exploration of an enshrinee’s career including rarely-seen archival footage, brilliant photography, and quotes.
Other interactive media exhibits test visitors’ knowledge of basketball trivia while they identify famous “buzzer beater” shots or match high school photos to current basketball stars. Kids of all ages create their own basketball fashion for a virtual player and basketball fans learn about the Jewish basketball experience, explore famous basketball rivalries, and root for their favorite underdogs.
A huge LED video wall is a towering visual element over Center Court, where players of all ages can grab a ball and show off their moves. RLMG produced a 15-minute video loop for the wall, broken into about a dozen segments that showcase history’s greatest highlights.
